Everything we sell comes down to the same promise: lift the handset and there is a dial tone.
Public telephone
The Model 1-D
Brushed steel, armoured cord, illuminated crown. Takes nickels, dimes and quarters; U.S. coins only. Local calls are 25¢. Emergency calls to 911 are free of charge and require no deposit.
Sited on plazas, transit platforms, filling stations and street corners across all eight exchanges. Property owners interested in hosting a kiosk should call customer care.
Operator services
Dial 0
Collect calls, person-to-person, third-number billing, calling card calls and emergency assistance. An operator answers at any hour, every day of the year.
Directory assistance is 411. For repair service on an existing line, dial 611 or call 1-800-555-0147.
Calling card
Dial 0 plus the number, then your card number at the tone. Charges appear on your monthly statement. Accepted at every KL5 public telephone and from any touch-tone line in the service area.
Cards are issued free to residence and business account holders.
Business & residence
Local and long distance service, private lines, leased circuits, hunt groups and centrex arrangements for business subscribers. Residential service includes touch-tone dialling at no additional charge.
New service normally installed within three business days.
Repair
Trouble on the line is reported to 611 or 1-800-555-0147, answered at any hour. Faults inside the network are ours to fix at no charge. A technician is dispatched the same day where the fault cannot be cleared from the office.
